Navigation is an important aspect of a web site.
Set of links are generally found on left or top portion of each page. Your links help users find their way around by informing them where they are and where they can go on your site.
The navigation bar should be consistant throughout the site - same look and location on each page.
Navigation is one of the first concepts that we hope to address.
Decide
- how many links to navigate your main sections
- what type of
buttons
- where they are located
Usually 4 to 8 buttons will be fine. Navigation can take many forms including text, graphics, pull down, roll-over, change of color, change of decoration, etc..
Strive for an easy flow through your site. Your users should have a clear idea of where they are, where to go and what to do on your
site soon after the page loads. Not many of us enjoy being lost.
It is wise and less expensive to have a clear navigation plan established early on.
Thinking about content.
